It is never easy to say goodbye.  It is never easy to capture into mere words how very special someone's life has meant to you or to the world that they have contributed to so much.   This is where we find ourselves now, so forgive how inadequate this note will be.....because there are no words that can capture how highly we regard you and how much we treasure the many dinners and events that we have shared with you and Pam.
You have led such a loving and giving life. Years of medical expertise and service, fathering and grandfathering so many, community services, generous donations to many causes...... HOWEVER....in our hearts you will be most remembered as the man who introduced the Bagna Cauda celebrations into our life.  Those joyous dinners were enjoyed not only at the moment, but for days after as people quickly learned to keep their distance from us!  Che odore!!Chi la fatta? Perche'?Elmer, you are a gentleman, a scholar and true inspiration for a life well lived.  We are lucky to be among the many people who are better for having known you.  Take comfort in Pam's loving care and be assured that many, many people are right there behind her for whatever we can do.  We love you. JoAnn and Marty
