Dear Elmer,

As I drive past the corner of Marin and Euclid, I often think about the key role you played to introduce Alice and me to the wonderful life that we live here in Berkeley.  My career at Berkeley Pediatrics began as a result of your enthusiasm and continued with your encouragement as a role model, and source of  support and companionship. You also cared for our children as their pediatrician.  I have never forgotten that moment at Craig’s Bar Mitzvah when you told me that  there were tears in your eyes as his college age sisters flanked him on the Bimah.  

Elmer, thank you for all that have you done for us.  We shall always remember you.
