The first time I met Elmer was in February, 2017, at a dinner at their home because it was the first time I came to Berkeley to visit Danny, and they invited us for dinner.

It was a very warm welcome for me.

I remember him as a nice storyteller and a warm, good, sympathetic man with a lot of interest in other people. We always have especially delicious dinners at Pam and Elmer’s house, around their big table.

Elmer made wonderful pictures of our wedding day at our home across the street, when we were all so very happy.

I will miss him and always remember him.
