Dr. Grossman was my daughter's pediatrician from 1983 until his retirement. He had an incredible gift for connecting with kids and helping them feel safe. My daughter never had any fear of going to see him and always looked forward to her visits. He was also a great doctor to talk with as a parent. He was always warm and easy going and never flaunted his considerable medical skills and knowledge. I've forgotten all the other doctors my daughter subsequently went to (and many I've been to myself), but Dr. Grossman was unforgettable and truly one of a kind. If there was a way that doctors could be trained to be more like Elmer Grossman, it would vastly improve people's experience of the medical system.
